Mgr Charles Chaput, archevêque de Philadelphie, établit une « quasi-paroisse » (canon 516) à l’église Sainte-Marie de Conshohocken, banlieue de Philadelphie, à partir du 1er août prochain, confiée à la Fraternité sacerdotale Saint Pierre, « en réponse à un intérêt grandissant » pour la forme extraordinaire.
La paroisse Sainte-Marie existait depuis le début du XXe siècle, c’était une paroisse polonaise. L’église fut construite en 1950. En 2014 la paroisse a fusionné avec la paroisse Saint-Matthieu. Depuis lors, la « société américano-polonaise de Sainte-Marie » a pu célébrer des fêtes de Noël et de Pâques dans l’église selon les traditions polonaises, mais il était de plus en plus question d’un abandon et d’une destruction de l’église.
(Rappelons que Mgr Chaput, connu pour son engagement pro-vie, a la particularité d’être le fils d’un Français descendant de saint Louis et d’une Indienne Potawatomi. Son nom indien est « le vent qui fait bruire les feuilles de l’arbre ».)

The background of the design, called the field, is blue. This color is taken from the Royal Arms of France, and it is employed to signify the Archbishop's direct heritage to Louis IX, sainted King of France. On this field is seen an erect, golden (yellow) feather to honor the importance of the Native American heritage (Potawatomi Tribe) of the Archbishop`s mother, Marian DeMarais Chaput. Seen on the feather are two silver (white) clasped hands, taken from the Chaput family device.

the archbishop and his maternal relatives, the DeMarais and Navarre families, who are members of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Tribe. The feather is painted gold (Or) on a deep blue (azure) field; these colors recall that the archbishop's maternal relatives also share a French heritage. The Navarre family in particular traces its roots to the family of Saint Louis IX
